Our accommodation is set across three main areas, all within easy reach of the campus, the city and amenities. You'll share a kitchen/dining room, two bathrooms and two shower rooms. They seem to keep amazingly warm too. Its the perfect social middle ground not too busy, but with a community feel. + 1 bathroom per 4 peoole The pasty green walls and plastic kitchen chairs give the flat character and is nicely complimented by the ever-growing mountain of dirty dishes that blanket the kitchen surfaces. Four of the doors on the bottom floor are bedrooms, one of the doors leads to a shared bathroom area, with a shower, two sinks and a toilet, and the fifth door leads to your shared kitchen. Its very good for people who are passionate about university; there are lots of study facilities, libraries, computer clusters. It has a great nightlife and social scene. You feel like you have your own house from the start, which is cool. It's in a great location for going out in Fallowfield or getting the bus into town. Living in halls is an incredible experience, so enjoy it. Overall, the best bit about Oak House is the vibe here. The other key advantage of living in self-catered halls, is you live in a flat with 6-10 people, which makes it easy to get to know everyone. The vibrant and close-knit student community is enough to make you forget about the prison-like interiors of your halls, at least until, about half way through the year, the poverty-inspired fashion of Fallowfield students really blooms and unironically tethers itself to the Oak House architectural style, resulting in the community's characteristic prison-chic aesthetic. Oak house is good if you wanna be very social but don't believe what other people say about it being too much of a party place there is a time and place. Importantly, you get to make these decisions! View insurance certificate. In my flat there is squashed fruit and sauce stains that's encrusted into the floor so you have to wear slippers everywhere. We would either take it in turns to cook or do it together. It wouldn't be worth paying for any of the more expensive accommodation as oak house has everything needed to live somewhat comfortably. I wish I would have known how small and noisy this accommodation would be, but this is a cash-cow for the University of Manchester.

According to one fresher at the University of Manchester, the "Covid Positive" party in the university's Fallowfield campus halls of residence was broken up by security on Saturday. That can be a good thing as it means you can stay longer and leave all your stuff here and your room in a mess, but if you do go home for the holidays it means you're still paying for your room even though you're not living in it.Oak House is a really social hall to live in and you'll get to know loads of people though living here. The kitchen was cramped, hot and most of the machines were poor quality. It is in the centre of the fallowfield student accommodation campus and surrounded by vibrant nightlife. Also, you don't have to move out in the holidays here. There is also a great mix of shops, cafes and bars and a frequent bus service to and from thecitycentre, making it an ideal location to live. People don't take care of the kitchen e.g. Expensive at 90 quid a week but it is the cheapest the university has to offer.

Having said that Oak House is in the heart of student land Fallowfield, so its only a 2 minute walk to various other bars, pubs and restaurants. I've got an offer to go to Manchester for Law and I am currently looking at accommodation. As of 2015 prices, Oak House costs 92.50 per week (with the exception of Chestnut court which costs 104.40 per week as it is the only block with a basin in the bedroom). Its definitely not the place you want to go to if you cant deal with noise as it is always noisy but all of my friends in different accommodations said they wish they had lived in Oak House for the social aspect and the monetary aspect. The entire of Oak House is self-catered and even though the green breeze block walls are not entirely appealing, it is by far the best halls to live in and also the cheapest! If you end up in Chestnut Court you do get a sink and a bigger bedroom to go with it, but the flip side is that the kitchen/living rooms are quite a bit smaller.
